Christine Polder is a current member of the Watercolor Society of Oregon and the Brush & Palette painting group. Brush & Palette painters are showing their work this month at the Mapleton Library and the Frames of Florence located near Coastal Fitness off Highway 101. Frames of Florence is on the GALA Art Walk reception tour for February. Meet the GALA bus at the FEC to go along for the ride. In March the group will be the featured artists at the Old Town Coffee & Art Gallery.

Christine Polder retired from working in the area of human services and moved to Florence, Oregon in 1999. Since that time she has devoted much of her time to painting with watercolor. She paints soft, atmospheric landcapes and floral compositions. She also enjoys painting on synthetic (Yupo) paper which lends itself to her abstract compositions. Her goal is to develop as an artist who can use the visual metaphors in a painting to touch people's feelings in a positive and moving way.
